About MARPAN

For more than 50 years, Marpan has led Tallahassee and North Florida in debris management and processing of residential and commercial recyclable materials. Their facilities have received, sorted and repurposed more than 2 billion pounds of material that would have otherwise been buried in a landfill. They also provide a wide variety of dumpsters for use at large construction and demolition sites, businesses and home remodeling projects.

Marpan services allow projects to stay clean and safe, but that’s just part of the story. Their state-of-the-art facilities sort and process residential and commercial waste efficiently and responsibly to support the local economy and preserve our natural resources.

Goals

Emerging from a generational leadership transition, Marpan’s website, social media and general brand presence were in urgent need of an update. With multiple business lines and a wide target audience, the company’s messaging needed to be segmented and targeted, while cohesive enough to embrace a trusted and known brand. Their primary goals were to build on the success of their container rental business, create awareness about other products and services and educate the community about their role in the recycling process — including addressing misinformation about the significant impact of responsible residential recycling. Specifically, Marpan wanted to:

  • Increase awareness about their products and services adjacent to the recycling business, including container rentals, mulch sales and the wide variety of contractor supplies sold at the Marpan Supply store.
  • Educate and establish greater thought leadership in the region about their role in the often-misunderstood recycling process, increasing participation and community support.
  • Strengthen overall brand awareness of a third-generation company that has impacted this region for 50 years.

Our Solution

  • First, we led their leadership team through a thorough brand assessment, which included a series of short surveys, meetings and discussions, exploring the core of their business goals, distinctives, target audiences and definitions of success. We then developed the key messaging and marketing strategies to achieve those goals. The result was an updated and reinvigorated brand with a new energy that has resulted in increased engagement and web traffic.
  • We developed a new website that captured the heart of the brand and provides a drastically improved user experience for construction professionals, business owners and backyard warriors looking for cost-effective options to collect, haul and recycle their construction debris. The project included web design, web copy and blog content, compelling photography and videos that captured the fascinating and highly visual sorting and recycling process.
  • We continue to engage the community with compelling and creative social media content, targeted digital advertising, traffic-driving blog posts, print ads and community outreach and presentation materials.
