Must-Have Office Staple:

I love a new notebook. It’s the best.

Favorite TV Show:

It’s a tie between The West Wing and M*A*S*H (the movie and the series).

Favorite Thing About Tallahassee:

The hills! I’m a flatlander Louisianan, so the hills are novel.

When Not in the Office…

Some chill-out time with my family and my rescue pups. The cat, too, if she’s not being a jerk.

Pet Peeve:

Writers using the thesaurus to make them sound smarter. It doesn’t work. Be clear and direct with your language, for the love of Strunk & White.

Perfect Cup of Coffee:

Medium roast with a splash of whole milk.

Beth Colvin thought she was going to be a history professor, but her love of a good story led her to newspapers.

With a bachelor’s in journalism from Louisiana Tech University, she embarked on a 15-year newspaper career on copy desks, as a reporter and eventually as assistant features editor at The Advocate, Louisiana’s largest daily newspaper. She also has a love of academia that led to a master’s degree in history, also from Tech, and one in library and information science, this time from LSU. Geaux Tigers.

She spent four and half more years as the first woman to manage The Forum, the award-winning quarterly magazine of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. As editor, Beth spearheaded a redesign and reimagining of the 100-year-old magazine that engaged its readers in new ways and also won a handful of Association Media & Publishing EXCEL Awards.

At Fiore, she manages a host of print publications and edits and crafts content that shines for clients across the board. She’s working toward her accreditation in public relations.
The Louisiana native and her husband, John, moved to Tallahassee in 2019 with their two daughters. In her free time, you can find her reading, embroidering and overthinking at youth sports events
